Jockey Declan McDonogh completed a double at Killarney today as he steered the Dermot Weld trained, Aga Khan owned Maysiyana to win the Irish EBF Supporting ICW (Fillies) Maiden.

The daughter of Cape Cross quickened well in the closing stages to eventually record a three and a half lengths win over Cascabel

McDonogh, earlier successful on the Gordon Elliott trained Monkeylou later said “she is nice and was on and off the bridle a little bit and was green and raw on the track and it was only her second start.

“She seemed to like the ease in the ground and picked up well and put it to bed fairly quickly. You'd love the way she hit the line and she was saving plenty energy for the finish.

“I think she could step up and 1m4f won't be a problem to her. It was sharp enough for her around here but stamina told in the end.

“She could possibly be a Stakes filly as there's any amount of improvement in her.”
